Foal play

The foals have been keeping apart since they were born, sensing the competitive distance that their mothers have kept between them. Now, finally, as the mothers are more settled, the foals have begun to play together. They are great fun when they are together. The foal fun only lasts a few minutes at the moment, then they return to the protective distance that their mothers impose on them.

At one point early in the video, Matilde arrives to call Aitana back from playing with Morris. Then they get together again while Matilde and Rubi are engrossed in their evening feed.

About Gareth Thomas

After a mixed career as an aircraft technician, London fringe theatre playwright, Franciscan friar, and secondary school teacher, I find myself looking after the needs of four donkeys in a remote location in the mountains in the Costa Blanca. I like to listen to BBC Radio 4 and the wind in the pine trees. I am writing a comedy about a school in Benidorm. My favourite film of all time is "Jean de Florette". If I had my time again I would not have spent the early 1970s working for Special Branch.
