Happy Christmas to all our readers!

Click on the photos for full size. Rubi and Morris will be wearing Santa hats for their Christmas Day walk to Finestrat. Or I may take Matilde and Aitana, if I am really brave… They need a lot more strength to handle on the road, so usually get walks only when Cait comes over to help, bur she’s away until New Year. Decisions…

The Year of Four Donkeys
Coming soon to the blog. An end of year celebration in one film sequence: from the days in Sierra Bernia visiting Matilde and Rubi, through their arrival and early days in my house (!), to the summer months of two pregnant donks and finally the autumn births and the joy of new life, with Aitana and Morris. I’ve started work on the cutting and it will be on here and on YouTube before the end of the week.

About Gareth Thomas

A fairly mixed career starting as an aircraft technician and later Franciscan friar eventually led into secondary school teaching. I settled in Spain where I teach Geography part-time and spend the rest of my time looking after the needs of four donkeys in a remote location in the mountains in the Costa Blanca. I have two blogs: a geography blog and a donkey blog.

Thanks Karin. The year of four donkeys will always be one to remember. Even now, I am wondering what the future holds for them, as I cannot support four adults and decisions will have to be made eventually. I am enjoying them while I can. Every minute! The foals are very affectionate creatures. Happy Christmas.

Can any visitors from the Damian Thompson blog please carry on your wars on his blog, not here.

    Thanks.

  9. Frere Rabit says:

    Hello StBosco,
No idea what you think you are doing here, after the avalanche of insults hurled in the direction of Catholics on Damian Thompson’s blog for what seems like forever… I will gauge opinion and let you know how to get back on if it seems a good thing.

  10. Frere Rabit says:

    Hey Nonny No,

The local reaction to donkeys in Santa hats was confined to the residents nearby… We did not go to Finestrat as I found out that everything was closed for Christmas, so we didn’t go to get our Christmas drink in the end.

Dem’s luvvly pitchers, bruvver rabit. Dont worry about Bosco, as a saved pusson he will find a way to logg on.

  12. Frere Rabit says:

    Ello Ecclies,

Thank you for commenterating on my very luvvly blogue. Obviously it’s not as luvvly as your luvvly blogue becuse I has no pitchers of clouns, but I am glad you licked the donkeys.

rabit – with apologies for the subject matter, I thought you handled the situation on the other blog rather well.

Anyway, based on superficial reading (and I refuse to trawl through everything) I appreciated your contribution.

What a lot has happened in a year! I have enjoyed all of your donkey stories and the lovely photos of “the family”. Thanks for keeping up this amusing blog(ue), and my best wishes to all five of you for 2012.

Very professional – you should all produce a 2012 calender! Donks seem to enjoy dressing up! Happy New Year! Jackie and Alys xxx
